Golf Tournament  Picture it . . . golf on a beautiful course, cloudless skies, soft evening breezes, delicious dinner, fun shopping . . . sound enticing? If so, join us at the Zion Church and School Annual Golf Tournament at Temecula Creek Golf Course at 44501 Rainbow Canyon Road in Temecula on Friday, September 17th. This is an evening out that is always filled with fun and great fellowship. Even if you’re not a golfer, join us for dinner and quality auction items. This is one of the best evening activities of the year, and we’d love for you to be with us!
For the first time ever, students are invited to play with a parent! What a wonderful fun time that would be for you and your child. Students will be given an excused absence that day that will not affect their attendance.
Need a babysitter? We’re offering that free of charge to you. Mrs. Danena Riggs, Zion Preschool teacher, and Mrs. Lorrie Scarborough, Zion church mom and member, will be caring for your little ones at the Zion Fellowship Center. Dinner will be provided for them, too.

We’re also holding an opportunity drawing for two items: a brand-new IPad and a brand-new IPod Touch. Come by the school office to purchase tickets ($10.00 for the IPad; $5.00 for the IPod Touch).

Please make checks out to “ZLCS” or through the online payment button available at www.zlcs.org. The deadline to register is Friday, September 10.
Monies earned will directly benefit our students. All proceeds will be given to the school technology department, teaching our students to become “21st century learners.”

Innisbrook Fundraiser  And . . . we’re off! Our first fundraiser of the year kicked off Wednesday at a student assembly. Innisbrook offers quality products that are easy to sell and also offer fun for the students. Students can earn prizes from Innisbrook, from the school, and from online ordering. Your child took home their packet Wednesday afternoon with all of the information you need to participate.
Out-of-town family and friends can participate, too, through their Online Store at
www.innisbrook.comWe pray that you will enthusiastically support this fundraiser which will benefit our music program. We’ve set our school goal at $10,000 in sales.  Please don’t hesitate to contact me personally or Katherine Patterson, our Innisbrook Fundraising Coordinator (and 6th grade mom) at 760-728-7283. Sales run from September 1 through September 15.

Confirmation Instruction It is with great joy and anticipation that we announce this year’s Confirmation program. Confirmation is a two year program. Students in grades 5-8 are eligible. Parents are asked to attend class with their child. If a parent is unable to attend a mentor will be provided.  Among the purposes of Confirmation are the following:
- To provide our youth with formal instruction in the Christian faith.
- To strengthen and encourage our youth in their faith and to equip them in dealing with the many challenges of today’s world.
- To prepare our youth for rightful reception of Holy Communion and adult membership in the congregation.
This year Confirmation Classes will be held on Wednesdays from 5:30pm to 7:30pm in the Zion Fellowship Center. Classes begin on September 8, 2009 and conclude on April 13, 2010. Confirmation of our second year students will take place on April 17, 2010.
For more information, please call the Church Office at 760-728-8288.  Confirmation Letter from Pastor, Confirmation Schedule, Confirmation Sign-Up Form
