CJSF Service Project (Jan-Feb 2012) Shoe Drive Success!  Thank you for all of your efforts on the Zion Shoe Drive. We collected a grand total of 4,400 pounds of shoes, so we will be receiving a check for over $3,000. God blessed our efforts and our results. He will continue His blessing to the people who refurbish the shoes, and to poor people in Third World countries who receive much-needed shoes.  Please know that we will CONTINUE to collect shoes!!! Our vendor will come whenever we ask to continually pick up the shoes we collect. So, if anyone missed out on bringing in shoes, or if anyone has a great source for unwanted shoes, please ask them to help out by continuing to bring shoes. Annual China Mission Trip
Every year, our seasoned teacher, Mr. Fischer, hosts an opportunity of a lifetime for 8th grade students and their parents.  Students are invited to participate in a 10-day trip to China.  The adventure starts in Hong Kong and includes visits to Victoria Peak, Wan Chai Market, Hong Kong International School, Zhongshan, and out into the countryside of Baisha and the historically fascinating city of Taishan (on bikes).  The second leg of the trip includes visiting Beijing, Temple of Heaven, the Silk Market and the Great Wall of China.  Students will forever cherish their special visit to Shepherd’s Field Children Village where they play with the children, lead activities and learn about their ministry.  To see photos from the last trip, click here. Under the loving guidance of Zion church members, students meet weekly to prepare bag lunches for homeless shelters within our community.  "We made sandwiches for a homeless shelter in Oceanside, it feels good to be able to help someone." --Jake (6th grade student)
