Join a PHIT Group, People Having Interest Together!
Basketball with Mark Longhurst: Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00 a.m., Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m., and every Saturday at 8:00 a.m. in the ZFC.

Book Club: We meet the last Monday of the month at the home of Ann Niese. All women are invited! Please bring a main dish, salad, or side dish to share. Peggy brings us a delicious dessert and Ann provides the appetizers, wine, and coffee. Happy Reading!

Pray and Play: We meet the second Tuesday of every month from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the ZFC youth room. Come for a casual, friendly gathering. We serve coffee, cake, have a short devotion, play rumicubes, cards, other games, or just enjoy visiting with one another. All are welcome to join us!

Sharp’s Spades: Do you know the game or are you a new player? Some of us have been playing for a while, so if you are a new player, we will start you with some lessons. It is a fun group! Our group meets twice a month, the second and fourth Friday at 6:30 p.m. in our home. It is an adult only group so if you have small ones, you will need to arrange for babysitting. What we have done in the past is BYO drink and an appetizer/snack to share. For more information contact Ron and Nancy Sharp

Knit 1, Pray 2: We meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursday each month at 11:00 a.m. in the church social hall. Zion’s knitting/crocheting PHIT group is open to all who want to join us, whether experienced or just beginning. We encourage you to enjoy the fellowship and learn new techniques. Contact Darlene Oslund or Barbara Chambers to let us know you would like to participate.

Writing: We meet in room 16, downstairs in the ZFC. You are invited to bring something that you’re working on for a critique by the group. We have some great writers! For more information contact Sandie Fischer.

Lutheran Christian Women Mite Box
District Mission Grants Update: The 2012-2014 mission grant goal of $130,000 is off to a good start. Thus far, $92,138.50 has been distributed to 11 mission grant recipients. We still need to collect $37,861.50 in order to fund the remaining four mission grant recipients. National Mission Grants Update: The 581 delegates attending the 35th Biennial Convention in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on June 27-30, 2013, voted to adopt the proposed 2013-2015 mission goal of $1,830,000. Yes, that IS one million, eight hundred, thirty thousand dollars! Eighteen mission grants, also voted on at the convention, will be funded from the mites collected during this two year period!

Zion Mite Box Update: Zion church members have contributed $423.34 to the mite box program since January 2013. Your continued support of the mite box program makes it possible to fund both district and national mission grants. Thank you, Zion!

Stamps for Missions Save all those stamps! The Pacific Southwest District of LWML will sell these cancelled postage stamps and the funds will be used to support mission grants within the district. You can help in this project. All you have to do is cut around the stamp, leaving a border of at least 1/4" around the stamp. If there are several stamps on the envelope, just cut around the entire grouping, again leaving a border of at least 1/4". Or you can just rip around the stamp or bring us the entire envelope and LCW will do the trimming. Please give the stamps to any active LCW member or bring them to the church office.

If you have any questions about how to set-up your own profile or any general questions, please contact Suzanne Longhurst (slonghurst@zlcs.org).

Portals of Prayer-A Daily Devotion
Start your day with faith-filled daily devotions. Each reading leads you to the foot of the cross with Scripture, prayer, and a life-applicable message. Portals of Prayer devotional booklets are available in the Church and the Zion Fellowship Center. We encourage all our members to use these booklets as part of your daily devotions.
