Fundraising at Zion

Tuition and Fees provide only a portion of the total cost required to educate a student at Zion Lutheran School. As is the case with most private schools and colleges, this revenue shortfall must be made up by gifts and contributions. Zion Lutheran School operates a donor program, "Eagle Flight," whereby parents and friends can contribute to the ongoing expenses of the school. Zion also conducts various activities and events throughout the school year to achieve the school's revenue requirements. In addition, proceeds from the SCRIP program and various other student and parent fundraising activities all go to support the school's programs.

Zion Scrip Order Form

Scrip is a term that means "substitute money". When you purchase scrip, you are purchasing negotiable gift certificates that are used just like cash. The scrip is issued by the national and local retailers where many of you already shop. These merchants want to support non profit organizations, and in return ask you to support them by shopping with scrip at their stores. You can use scrip to purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials, and with every purchase, you earn revenue for Zion! SCRIP gift certificates are a national fund-raiser used by many schools and churches. SCRIP is available for grocery stores, retail stores, and restaurants. When you purchase SCRIP, you receive gift certificates to use at the stores, at no added cost to you.

Need a quick gift? Need to make a quick trip to the grocery store? Getting gas, clothes, going to dinner? Stop by & purchase a Scrip gift certificate. You help the school out every time you do this & you help yourself too! Zion splits the Scrip proceeds with you, 50/50. Your 50% can be applied at various times during the year to any school expense. Many of our families let their funds build from year to year to help pay for class trips, school registration, etc. With Scrip you are not spending any more money than you would normally, but Zion & you earn a little bit back on each purchase.

Zion carries our most popular Scrip for immediate purchase. You can also place an order for any Scrip available on the order forms. Orders are placed at 9:00 a.m. Monday mornings for pick up by that Friday. We also have a handful of local merchants that participate. Our newest addition is Lemonchellos with locations in Fallbrook and Temecula. Jasmine Rose is also offering a special 10% back to school bonus return for the entire month of September. That means that instead of the usual 10% that they return back to the school for 5% and your fundraising account for 5%, we both get 10%. Take advantage of the additional earnings this month.

Recycle for Zion Ministries

Aluminum Cans for Missions Project

Please save your aluminum cans! Get your friends and neighbors to save them also for our China Missions project! Collect them and bring them in during the school year to Mr. Fischer’s classroom.

Mrs. Soon’s Seventh Grade Class... The Zion Sixth Grade class would appreciate your participation in recycling plastic to support our school’s China Missions Project and our current Hurricane Relief Missions Project. Please bring in plastic water bottles, juice bottles, etc. that are designated as “CA Refund” recyclables. The Sixth Graders have special trash cans designated for recycling that are located at the following sites on campus: outside Mrs. Soon’s room (#16), in front of the Fellowship Center, in front of portable classroom #10, in the breezeway, at the lunch tables, and in front of the school office. Please rinse bottles if necessary. The Sixth Grade thanks you in advance for your support!

Our school participates in the Box Tops for Education program sponsored by General Mills. Please save your Box Tops from participating General Mills cereals and snacks and send them to school. Please turn in your box tops to your child’s teacher or the school office labeled with your child’s classroom.
