Mrs. Robertson's Preschool Class

Dear Preschool Families,
Can you believe that our precious four year olds are almost ready for Kindergarten?  If you haven't already, I encourage you and your family to attend our next Kindergarten "Meet & Greet" on Thurs., May 31 @ 6 PM in Rm 6.
Come meet Mrs. Hanford, our Kindergarten teacher, and parents to learn about Zion's exceptional Kindergarten program.

Welcome to the Pre-Kindergarten Class
This class is designed to provide a balance of fun “hands on” learning activities and daily Kindergarten readiness skills your child will need for success in Kindergarten. I want your child to love school! I want them to know it is a safe place to make new friends and try new things! We will start our day with free play, with Circle Time beginning at 8:25 a.m. Days of the week, pledge to our flags, calendar, counting, and talking about the day’s activities take place here. The alphabet is introduced in a phonics based program with daily printing practice at small group time. The class will explore monthly themes including I am special and Families, Harvest (Farm and Pumpkins), We Are Thankful (Fall) etc. Arts and crafts are a fun, creative part of each day. A weekly newsletter will be sent home reviewing what happened that week and will also give you a preview for the following week. This year it is my desire to touch each child with the love of Jesus. I want them to know they are cherished and loved by their Father in heaven. Zion’s theme this year is from Psalm 95: 6-7 “Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for He is our God and we are the people of His pasture, the flock under His care.” This theme will be woven into our daily activities, with the goal of helping your child choose God pleasing behavior in all situations. You will always know what Bible story we are on by the pictures, books and crafts that come home. I hope that you will hang these in a special place, reminding your child that Christ has a special place in your home.

Please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns.  I will usually be at school by 7:00 a.m. and will check my emails for messages (krobertson@zlcs.org) or the school phone number is 1-760-723-3500.

I want your Pre K year to be the best yet. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to partner with you in your child’s early education.

In Christ,
Karen Robertson
