October 11, 2011 Dear Parents, I hope you enjoyed the day off with your children. Teachers managed to get in some much needed meetings and a few extra hours to spend on plans and grading (and parent communication!). Extra time is always welcome. Shepherd’s Field Donations: Eighth grade parents, I hope your child brought home the blue sheet with information on the supplies for Shepherd’s Field Orphanage in Beijing. Our China travelers will be taking these donations to help out the orphanage. Just in case this list didn’t make it home, here are some of the items on the list: packs of large medical gloves; children’s Benadryl-both chewable or liquid; children’s Allegra D—chewable tablets, the D is a decongestant; children’s cold/flu medicine—chewable, any brand; XXL diapers; SOY baby formula—powder, any brand; OXI laundry stain remover—powder in a big plastic tub—to get out bib and sheet stains—wrap well in Ziploc bags; Swiffer—wet pads—refill for the swiffer—pack in Ziploc bags in case the plastic tub breaks open and it leaks; Swiffer dry pads—refill—can all be taken out of the boxes and put into Ziploc bags; big bags of mini chocolates for the nanny’s Christmas party; nutritional yeast; 32 oz size hand sanitizer. Also, for their banner-making factory: HEAT AND BOND—7/8 inch x 10 yards; HEAT AND BOND—5/8 inch x 10 yards; HEAT AND BOND—3/8 inch x 10 yards; Fabric marking pens—white. Your help and generosity are very much appreciated. Have you signed up to work at the Harvest Carnival on October 29th? All help is welcome. Your child earns a monetary credit towards the Houseboat trip in May for the time you or your child spends helping out in the Food Booth. I’ll see you there! Have a blessed week in the Lord! Blessings, Sandie Fischer
